If you want a sincere answer: until the 80s most militant groups viewed kamikazes as forbidden and the mainstream Muslim view on suicide bombing is that it will directly take you to hell.

Hamas adopted it from Hezbollah after the Lebanese civil war who were inspired by Japs, they were also inspired by left-wing groups like the PKK, the Tamil Tigers, and the PFLP. Then the suicide bombing stuff gradually shifted from secular group to religious zealots.

Now why do they do that? Explosives are deadly (no shit), training recruits to shoot is high-investment and gives you the risk of having a low kill count, and it's easy to strap a bomb on the most retarded of your recruits and kill hundreds. So it's just the cheapest for the most kills.

Also what happened in Paris 10 years ago was a combination of shooting and bombing, but yes all these attacks whether jihadist or far-right reek of false flags.
