Her actual home is much cleaner, as this was just a temporary thing when her tank needed a freshening up. I made sure to disinfect everything once I was done, and when her home was back to tip top shape. She's pretty big, so it's not always a quick or easy job to maintain a healthy environment for her, if that makes sense. The pot only looked messy on the rim because Mayday is a fighter lol, and she thrashed a bit before calming down which kinda grubbed things up haha. This is actually the first time i got stung by a catfish before in my life. I didn't even know Mayday's stinger was that sharp, it hurt BAD. She only ever swallowed my finger while I was hand feeding her, so it was certainly an experience. I love Mayday, as much as I love Dante, and I'd never make her miserable by forcing her to live in an unhealthy home. I've had her since 2020, and her health is amazing. She's nice and big and always alert. She has a lot of personality for a fish! She gets annoyed when I play music and turn on the lights without her expecting it, or while she's swimming around. She used to be a light tan, but now she's a jet black (except for her tummy, and her side spot) because she despises the light so much. Sorry for the rambling, I just love talking about her!!!
