The whole thing is just sad. It started mostly ironically and was usually way more mean spirited towards the attention seeking women but these days the humor has been lost it's just desperate people validating narcissistic and destructive behavior which only serves to create a cycle of moral decay that replicates when more people witness it and choose to join in.
In a way everyone involved is a victim and a monster.
