If you don't have the power to actually resolve the issue, if it's not your issue, if you're not bring offered anything for making it your issue then you're a pawn.

And my experience is that people bring in pawns as a last resort when they know they are wrong.
She didn't call the police and report it stolen, she didn't pay a lawyer to sort it for her, she didn't sort it herself. Why? Well probably because she's wrong, that's why she resorted to bringing you in, as a pawn
