The stock market (every stock market) is just a casino (based in speculation/gossip, statistics,...) with no guaranteed reward!
Most investors are just like sheep, they do the same as the rest, even if it don't make sense! Just like every year, a lot of investors get some money back before summer. Also, they ("the whales", big investors) are creating crushes (on purpose), from time to time, to attract new/sharp investors (to "buying the dip"). The stock market is just a scam with extra steps.
