Some horny people confuse romance with kindness. In theory, it looks silly confusing romance/love/lust with kindness/care. But it happens, a lot as people lack good emotional control (specially in teenage years). Currently, good emotional self-control is not taught in human schools properly and it is not taught by a lot of parents as well (cringe/taboo). Therefore, people grow naturally as an emotional mess, so it is not surprise that most adults are immature in terms of feelings. Also, the basic programming of humans to procreate is on excessive overdrive. In other words, teenagers (and such) are more horny that it is recommended; they need to consciously/constantly calm down or the instincts overflow their judgment/discernment.
