There is now a terminal CO₂ shortage in UK somehow.
Fizzy drinks will have to stop production, but that's not the biggest issue...

Since UK has "humane" animal husbandry laws, pigs are killed by suffocation by CO₂. Lack of CO₂ means they cannot produce pork. (To add to that, there's a huge worker shortage there already since most workers were from E Europe.)
But guess what? They now have a shitload of pigs who were bred and they expected to slaughter them, and now they got nowhere to house them.
Macabre.

How did we get there, though?
Well... since gas prices are high, two fertiliser plants closed down.
And CO₂ is a side product of making ammonia from gas.
