What doesn't make sense: apparently the RuAF HQ didn't notice the offensive and land capture because due to Ukrainian opsec noone wrote about it in the Western papers, and the pro-Russian milbloggers while knew something is up they didn't know details so Gerasimov couldn't read them. Or some such. Sure.
But he presents evidence of Ukrainian advance in the form of Russian airstrikes and whatnot.
Weird isn't it. Russian higher command did not know about the offensive but they sent Su27s to bomb them. Surely the battalion commanders themselves flew those instead of requesting air support.
