>I thought he was a living Grand Master, but apparently Stefanik died of suspicious circumstances.

The most plausible theory on his death was that he was not a big friend with Edward Beneš who was before becoming leader of czechoslovak republic a massive twat abusing his power and gambler and štefanik knew his secret of alcoholism and gambling (like there is also a legend around it which i dont have fully confirmed that the reason on why he was killed was because he found out Beneš lost a czechoslovak collection funds in Monte carlo casino and wanted to report it to Masaryk)
Second most plausible theory was that he was simply killed because czech exile goverment did not want to recognize slovakia as separate people and stefanik was a big supporter of dual rule in czechoslovak state like was in AH and that idea was largely disliked

Yes someone may point out that father of nation andrew hlinka opposed what stefanik wanted but he retreated when dual rule was on table despite of his desire to be full independent state

Yes his death is very suspicious but for me even his rise is just how did he even got funds for studying in those prestigious unis?
