I´ve only seen Danbooru a couple of times and I was surprised at how basic it felt in comparison to Derpi.
This booru is the main source of all the images we have been posting and it will be. There are 3 pillars behind this fandom:
4chan, Derpibooru and Equestria Daily.
I would include a 4th one, which is FiMfiction, considering how popular MLP got in fanfiction around 2011 that it got its own site for that. That´s not counting the rest of social media(Reddit,Facebook...) nor communities out there, but these three are the biggest ones.
You can see why Derpi is important and that well organized.
