>I can see the analogy of /endpone/ being a surprisingly inhabited place away from the manestream pony boards. It seems nice but being so far out something is off. Our little references to the darkness and such certain help with that.

Honestly, there is a reason why /endpone/ has that sense of darkness within its nature without relying on edginess: its isolated environment.

In the past (unlike nowadays where you have some lurkers, the first page on the boardlist, more established threads), you had to rely on the other user by using blind faith, replying to him and wait for your answer to come eventually without expecting that said reply wasn't guaranteed at all.

That eerie haunting feeling that you have deep within your brain that said day could be the last for the board and thar creeps in every time you post, because you rely on that content in order to go further.

Now, that has been softened a little bit but this place is so small and feels so distant that you feel like you have entered into the deep web (when it isn't the case at all, it's just an obscure underground layer)

The Proof of Life Shitpost phrase wasn't an accident...because it holds much more meaning at giving some signs of activity to the other user so he could notice that you were there.

So yeah, this board holds that uneasy feeling that still persists to this day. Calling it a dead board feels like a compliment...because it means that it was alive at some point.
