I think it still is of use and a potential measure on which we can check against other potential sources of data. Google Trends. Number of registered users. What could possibly be found on other free data services. Never blindly put faith in it, but it could don't discard it either.

Yeah, I imagine there is three groups:
Active Fandom Those who are fully active in the MLP fandom but also have a interest in furry. They probably use Derpi or one of the other boorus for their main pony fix.

Passive Fandom Those with a mild interest in MLP, consuming it within the rest of other furry art they like, perhaps many of whom were once active members who gradually went into the furry fandom and mainly do that now. These would I imagine the most likely to use furbooru as a MLP site over one of the other boorus.

Non Fandom Users finding it organically from normal searching, advertisements, etc. We don't know how many of them there are and even if we checked each and every registered user that wouldn't record passive traffic at all.
