Reposting this for more eyes. Not my post but should have been notabled. Long interesting article that investigates school surveillance on school kids' internet activity not just on school computer email and internet searches but ALSO on personal devices and private social media activity, to the point that one firm even sends "a scolding email any time they use a profanity." Justified on basis of preventing school shootings, self-harm, and future problems with employers by training the kids not to share inappropriate content.
