The tally for the greenhouse gas-intensive UN climate conference trip is tentatively pegged at $1.07 million and counting, including $172,000 in airfare costs and another $41,500 in ground transportation fees.

The conference convened in November 2021 in Glasgow Scotland and came just weeks before public health authorities were demanding that Canadians forgo their Christmas and holiday gatherings in the name of battling the spread of the coronavirus.

The details of the enormous entourage were obtained through a House of Commons order paper question posed by Conservative MP Rosemarie Falk.

The taxpayer-funded delegation included dozens of representatives from private industry and the financial sector.

Executives from Fortis, Capital Power, Brainbox AI, Bank of Montreal and Vancity Community Investment Bank all hitched a ride with the Canadian government team to Glasgow for the yearly United Nations gathering of climate worriers.
