The supposedly impartial judge appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to review the invocation of the Emergencies Act has been a long time and repeated financier of Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada, The Counter Signal has learned.

According to documents obtained by The Counter Signal, some of which have mysteriously disappeared from the Elections Canada website, Justice Paul S. Rouleau has funnelled money year after year to the Liberal Party.

Earlier today, Trudeau announced the establishment of the Public Order Emergency Commission, led by Rouleau as Commissioner, to investigate Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergencies Act.

Outside the financial loyalty to Trudeau, it is not immediately clear what makes Rouleau qualified to chair such a crucial commission.

Rouleau’s Wikipedia page is only 34 words long, but financial contributions made by him to the Liberals tell a much more detailed story.

UPDATE: While donations were made by an unrelated donor of the same name (Paul Rouleau) in recent years, Justice Paul S. Rouleau has a much longer history, and his donations were captured by the Postmedia “Follow The Money” search engine. Strangely, these donations do not appear to be available on the public Elections Canada donor database
