Hearing on Challenge to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's Candidacy
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) testified at an administrative hearing on a 14th Amendment challenge to her candidacy for reelection in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District. The challenge was brought by five Georgia voters under the third section of the 14th Amendment, which prohibits the election of anybody involved in “insurrection or rebellion” to the U.S. government. Judge Charles Beaudrot was expected to make a recommendation on Representatives Greene’s candidacy to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R). If she is found ineligible to run for the 14th District U.S. House seat in Georgia before the May 23, 2022, primary, an annotation will be added to ballots in Georgia’s 14th District stating that votes for Representative Greene will not be counted.
