First, agents will be deployed to legal but disruptive tasks, like selling products or electing politicians. They will begin to abuse the current internet infra-structure.
Second, Agents will be deployed to do actual illegal tasks, likely by intelligence agencies or scammers, they will actively use every hack known and unknown, breaking the internet apart and causing massive service interruptions.
As the arms race ensues, the internet will be partitioned in local intranets trying to keep at least banking working. Gradually the internet will be rebuilt not only by agents, but AS agents.
