Not even close, check out the Taalas chip stuff. And this:

Basically, AI is running on legacy human made hardware. that has layers upon layers of abstractions of older hardware for compatibility and compiler stuff, its very wasteful.
We are very far from neuromorphic designs, but closing in fast.
