Your empathy is always appreciated. I've been talking to my friend from night school about this and she was very understanding and told me about her own experience with her two eldest daughters becoming addicts recently. She and her husband did everything by the book when they raised them but it still wasn't enough for them. She said when she went to bed she prayed and hoped with all her strength that she wouldn't wake up ever again. I'm familiar with that feeling of course. Sometimes it gets to be too much. What you said about the rewards of being good isn't just true, it's proof of your wisdom. I'm lucky to have met more than one :)
