I don't know about this much yet but and I want to talk about this topic further when I feel effortposty but...
When some older vampire was telling me the "higher vampire" rules. Some of them were simple that no enlightened being does while some of them were so specific my mind couldn't even receive it. There was one akin to this.

Now how you can "split" apart. It's either from the "higher density" bodies. Which is like how humans had 4 hands at the start but Zeus cut them in half so people were destined to look for their "other part". Or how God "marked" Cain. Or the other kind which is on the same density. Vertical splitting apart. If you are in 1 body it causes a "split personality" or you go and the "split up bodies" go into "other bodies". We do this as we do our magical workings naturally and in the end we reabsorb ourselves but... If this was done to someone else. Well they can get incarnated into other bodies and the "soul" will have a trouble "finding itself". As you advance you can overcome it but it's considered a real dick move (because the egos need to die so the soul can merge again or at least one soul shard needs to overcome the limitations to reabsorb the others). This is an advanced and complicated topic but we will talk about this further for sure.

If I want to give an example in Umineko it's how Beatrice was multiple people.
