It was made with just html and css. There is no backend. When the site loads, your browser (probably tor browser) asks the websites for a certain image I preselected. If the website loads the image, then the server is up. If it doesn't the server is down. So, instead of having a backend and doing http requests to see if the site is up, your browser does it by requesting an image from the site.

I had the idea for a list of just chans, but I realised that clearnet chans really don't like to hassle with torposters, and that there are a lot of ways to communicate with people on tor than just chans.

Myanee is a nanon who provides shared hosting and hosts my website. In fact you can get his email by scrolling up in the qtddtot thread on /g/.

I came up with the idea of using image requests in the shower. So take showers for good ideas!

The less machines unencrypted data flows through the better. The point of the gateway is to act as an entrance to the internet. It has no use in knowing what exactly it is sending over the internet.
