do you ever think about the effects of watching animes? it's existed for only 100 years or so imagine all those in history and realize none of them watched anime. I don't think our brains have evolved to understand what we are seeing. If you think about it everything we ever saw in all of history was completely real until now we see brutal murders but we arent in any danger ourselves we see sex scenes that turn us on because its supposed to be happening in front of us but it isnt. I bet in 100 years when this is more studied academics will shudder at the generation that allowed themselves to be brainwashed in such a way.

All I know is my orgasm count would be EXTREMELY low if it wasn't for anime.

can't or I should say shouldn't overindulge in anything. shan't if I were to make it a commandment. just be a good boy and enjoy what you can and still be productive in all things. if the romans had anime they would have enjoyed it along with their baths and watered down wine and still found time for conquest and asphalt making.

this picture is interesting because the polar bear and giraffe were likely born in captivity while the human can probably see the horizon at his own leisure but resides in his own trappings. While you could argue that you may not have such views readily available to you if you're an urban dweller no matter where you are you're not all that far from more rustic environs. Then there's the whole are humans born in captivity thing? We're definitely born into society, along with all that entails, society could be viewed as a prison in and of itself especially in the modern times that we live in. To just solemnly accept that you are no better than a caged animal is essentially a resignation of whining, which is unacceptable in my mind. It is better to relentlessly push forward optimistically knowing the struggle is part of the human condition. I would rather take arms against a sea of troubles then allow them to wash over me in mawkish repose.

>To just solemnly accept that you are no better than a caged animal
that post was saying precisely that Romans (and people who don't watch anime) are better than caged animals, but that those who watch anime are in the situation you describe. did you even read OP, or the thread?

But anime is just another form of media. You're acting like it's singular and revolutionary. The problem isn't the media, but the gluttony of the people which in turn causes sloth. There are layabout tv viewers, radio listeners, book readers, etc and have been through out their entire history. They're not really much different than drug addicts. People don't need to "evolve" to watch anime you fucking dunce.

fuck, I've been reading classical literature and classical poetry and watching European films, when I could have been watching K-ON this whole time and been the same person!

(((Whomst))) espouses most classical literature, poetry and European film as superior art forms I ponder? Have you elucidated yourself to your own dissonant thought on the matter and utter lack of reading comprehension yet?

Little Women or Heidi would probably be the most apt comparison for K-On in "Classical Literature."

You're right. They need to evolve to experience the superior medium known as the visual novel (also known as ギャルゲーム or エロゲ).

1. there's probably true to that
2. nyt is fake news
3. doesn't seem to have worked so great for them though, they are now basically as >dead as >we were say a year ago

some honest discussion (even if in-character) is probably healthy maybe even necessary but doesn't seem to be enough, if libre is anything to go by

or maybe they were just seriously screwed by the downtime

in the end chancy Tyche will not save you, shitposters will precipitate, serious discussions will prosper, and we will prevail.
