Yeah, you're right. Unfortunately men are conditioned to not have that same level of empathy with each other, and even when you try to it usually just gets rejected, exploited, or you get accused of being gay.
I've had few guy friends where we've had that "I'll do anything for you" attitude but we kind of grew apart and now at most I meet men who treat me as a dime store therapist, which defeats the purpose of forming an emotional bond.
