It wasn’t for “love.” Marky hated her family at the time and was desperate to get her life on track. Like every other bpdthot she thought an easy way to do this was by dating a man and handing her life over to him, inevitably being failed by him. She probably thought he actually was rich, because her standards are fucked. The idea of turning a new leaf and sticking it to everyone who doubted she’d make anything of herself was too tempting. She thought by moving to an entirely different country it would be impressive enough by itself and fool people into thinking she was moving on up. It worked on orbiters for a while, maybe her family is still dumb enough to believe it too.
