i think it was more of an opportunist thing since he already knew her through marky and was seemingly having relationship problems at the time
i doubt he pursued her as closely as some people here imply. sounds more like he sought a rebound after marky, which definitely makes me think it's possible they fucked. would be really funny if she actually turned down even kissing him rofl
