That was (if I'm not mistaken) just a reaction to the "raise the flag" campaign that happened after the 2024 riots in the UK. Don't think this is anti-English. Lots of people just found it very cringe when every right wing person was putting up the English flag everywhere.
Also, Katie had some far right beliefs, at least at the end. I don't think she liked immigrants/nons. Just based on my interactions with her. But then again this isn't new, I don't think many people in her region had a good opinion of non whites, considering the criminal part of Leeds and that entire region (Bradford, etc) with lots of South Asian crime. Wouldn't be surprised if the interactions she had with South Asians were street harassment which shaped her views.
