It's probably not something that happened overnight. But rather months of increasing stress and tension in the home, etc. I remember her reading a comment that she was estranged with her father, and I'm just gonna guess that the new step-father couldn't stand her. I also imagine that her mother was kind of oblivious to her issues and just lived life. But yeah maybe something in the last days made her snap like an argument with her mother/sister/idk.
