I thought McCormick & Company (ticker: MKC) was a publicly owned/traded company. BlackRock owns stakes in tons of public companies through its ETFs and index funds, but it doesn’t control McCormick. Their ownership is mostly passive. You can't win for losing when it comes to BlackRock, you might as well just give up there. You know who else owns a lot of MKC stocks? Vanguard. They typically own more in these kinds of companies.
