I noticed that many BPD girls do this regardless of the stalking/harassment. I don't entirely understand the logic behind it, but I think that it makes them feel better having new starting points and new identities, which kind of mirrors their unstable sense of self. As >>27789 pointed out, it also facilitates their attention whoring and makes it easier to keep their orbiters separated from each other, but I don't think that's the case here. I doubt that Marky is talking to anyone lately.
