That's basically a symptom for any kind of illnesses.
Vets are generally useless and they always cost a lot. A pet owner can learn most of the common problems he'll run into and how to treat them. When it comes to something more serious it can't be diagnosed properly except with various expensive tests and the outcome is probably death anyway. Ofc they won't tell you outright, because they want you to pay for treatments a lot and for a long time.
