in fact, the most useful thing they have added in 5 years was WSL, which lets you use a linux CLI within window.

Booting win11 into a desktop with nothing installed and no programs running consumes almost 4GB of ram, using any linux distro with even a KDE DE consumes at most 800mb of ram, usually less.

Microjeet dying cannot come soon enough, I used to work for them as a contractor a few years back doing devops, a day at that job went like this:
>Do handover with overnight team (indian CEOs and engineers) and receive 4 bugs to fix
>go home
>come back next morning to those same 4 bugs, as well as 3 new ones
>fix the three new ones and the 4 old ones
>recieve 10 new bugs the next day.
