Rise and fall of empire. We were a Constitutional Republic but did not heed the advice and warnings of our Founders who were against empire building and mob-rule democracy. We became greedy, selfish, arrogant, corrupt like all empires, government grew way too big, debts mounted from endless bureaucracy and endless wars. The free market slayed to death by govt-backed monopolization and now we see the rapid decline of society.
