i don't think carmen ever monitored his discord chats, i think she only ever kept an eye on 4chan, and by the time the grooming saga seems to have started she had already given up even that for the most part, so that would explain how he was able to talk to little kids without her knowing. alternatively, she could just have the mindset that since her son has the pdd mental age of a 2 year old that means it's perfectly fine for him to talk to kids online
