Your selective memory just blends out the hundreds of speculations that were complete bullshit. Just look at all the stuff people were saying about the Garden and how Bonbi supposedly dated like every single person in there at one point. Or the mutually exclusive theories about why Bonbi was homeschooled in the first place.
There were a handful of speculations almost a year ago that turned out to be true, and that's basically it. And the speculations that turned out to be true actually had some form of evidence.
