Dude, everybody knew about it at the time, they just didn't care. People were voting for the president, not his son who sure enough is not involved. The alternative was a president whose son was well known to like it Bolivian and was also part of daddy's administration.
Also factor in that there was a lot of BS about him and a laptop plus although a lot of what you hear about the Charlie is correct there is additional BS on top of that as well. I recommend an aggregating site like Ground News.
