Masamune used to be in the main, public Bonbi Discord server that Seth (Anon1725/Myspeld) created in October 2018 with the intention of getting in contact with Bonbi. Masamune was first noteworthy in February of 2019, when he gave $1,000 to Seth via a Patreon account that Seth set up for himself, before he was doxxed and exposed as a pedophile. Masamune was very quiet on the server and did not seem to publicly interact with people much. He had faded into obscurity until Bonbi posted a link to her Twitch channel in late October. People went to it and saw the chat was open. Masamune and Seth (as Myspeld) were moderators of the chat. This has lead to speculation that Masamune has paid his way into Bonbi's inner circle by giving Seth money. Masamune has also given Bonbi a lot of money, though claims of him giving up to $40,000 are extremely unlikely to be true.

In July 2019, Seth's mother posted on her Facebook about a $200 Kobe beef steak that she was about to make for Seth. She said his "friend" got it for him and had it sent to them. It has been theorized that Bonbi got this for him, but others believe it was probably Masamune.
