Saturday features the penultimate stage from Paredes to Mondim de Basto, with the finish located on a Category 1 climb. Sunday’s final stage takes the peloton from Maia to Porto. “We are going ahead, but naturally in an adapted form,” states the organizer in a press release. “Saturday begins with a tribute to Finlay Tarling, in which the entire peloton and everyone else involved in our race will participate.”

Out of respect and in the spirit of mourning, the main sponsors and the organizers of the Tour of Portugal have agreed to cancel all other events surrounding the race during the final two days. The Tour Club and the advertising caravan will not take place. The race will go on. There will be a sporting competition, but no party. On Saturday, the peloton will ride with Finlay in our thoughts.”
