imo if anything changing industry standards are what kills frames not material failure. You can probably ride any frame for 20++ years and put 200k km on it zonder chute catastrophe but what ends up killing it is new hub/bb/brake/wheel/anything standards that have long since pushed the old stuff out while the new stuff won't fit your old frame
