You don't usually see a Buddhist walking inside a big noisy city (where most humans live). They are outside of the flow of normal modern society. They don't integrate well with other cultures. They usually live in their own monasteries or other quite places (quietude).
In theory, we can live in whatever place/culture that are benevolent. But, some places on Earth are mostly estimated as hellish places. Even if we don't do it now (we can do it in the future), we can create our own places (paradises) or our own universes/multiverses where members of God's Community can create their own inner universes/homes/temples.
