I know it by its name only, and if Free Trade is not the same as the ability to trade freely then that is an inaccurate term.
I can see why Free Trade would be bad if people are dis-incentivized to trade within their own country (by being taxed) and incentivized to trade outside their countries (by being tax-free).
I can see why you or others would be against that since it should be the reverse (if one prioritized their own countries before other countries).
