However, they (the British, City of London) kind of won since the greenbacks that Lincoln pushed was supposed to be temporary until the US paid off all its debt before restoring an intrinsically backed paper money. JFK got fucked for doing that. Although I don't think that there needs to be a restoration of the credit based system, the debt based system is a losing game of which the formula for interest itself is impossible to pay back with existing money since interest is done upon all existing money, no amount of money printing would change it.
