I don't watch streamers at all either, but I suppose I "get it" from back when I did watch vtubers. It is preying on lonely people. When I was most into vtubers was also when I was feeling the loneliest and most depressed I have in my life. Vtubers and e-whores are pretending to be your virtual girlfriend to get them to give you your money. Male twitch streamers are doing the same thing but just pretending to be your friend for people who have none. It is a controversial statement for one of them to simply say "I'm not your friend." Its a whole parasocial ecosystem.
