It's actually a horrible idea.
Akitas can be mean, aggressive, and hard to train. With either a Shiba or an Akita, I hope you enjoy your dog being smarter than you as you try to train it.

Ah, the fluffy Husky. I've always wanted a Samoyed. With both of those breeds, you better be prepared to brush them like every other day. Literally buy a shop vac, to vacuum your dog.
Also I feel like the Jap apartment meme is very temporary. Like all the Japanese blogger nerds I follow lived in the dinky meme apartments for like two years max and then found a real place to live.

Akitas and Shibas are both considered highly intelligent, and unfortunately also highly independent breeds.
The prick eared, spitz breeds in general are closest to actual wolves, and are usually the more ornery of all the common dog breeds.
