Unless I haven't got the memo, it doesn't really seem to be the seeds, well unless we're talking about GMO stuff, but just more about how major producers grow their produce and pick them. Also that they mass produce it so much the soil barely has time to recover.
Now I'm wonder what a Horse knows about produce.

Might be what they grow them in and when they pick them. I'd say how eating them raw is a bit more for people in general, like raw potatoes, but if you're own grown onions don't do it it might be something else.
