It is actually 2 years suspended prison. Maybe should have wrote just that since I'm far from sure about the correct translation of legal terms generally. Basically for the next two years if he does something illegal and get caught, then he has to sit what he gets for that crime and one year on top of that for this one.
He will do just fine his rap sheet is clean.
