With this rate the thread becomes a list of obituaries.
But the big old names following each other... does the current generation of musicians and bands have the potential to became as iconic as these guys? These guys formed great genres, left their marks everywhere on the globe. Their songs were played and used in other media, movies, tv-shows. These songs are associated with history forming events. Some as pioneers traveled into ex-Eastern Block countries after the collapse, I think some even before that. Their concerts are/were huge happenings, moving masses.
Now the new guys, new music?
