Article from 1970. Journal "Ровесник" (translated as "person of the same age" or "same-age peer") was journal for youths about music and movies, it often had articles about foreign rock (of course very censored).

Some bands for some reasons were allowed, or allowed partially. Even in system like USSR it is hard to be fully closed from foreign cultural influence, so Soviet youths listened to rock-n-roll on underground-made vinyls and cassettes, but some officially allowed music also was released by state companies. Some selected records of Beatles, Rolling Stones or Doors were allowed (although mostly in late USSR), some jazz etc. Also some singers who were friendly to USSR also were officially printed, like Dean Reed.

There were also local rock'n'roll and hard rock, sometimes not that bad.
