This is either politics or news, but since hard to have any opinion besides "fuck", so news.
Demonstrations are going on in Budapest these days, and at other towns too I heard, for the recent measures of the government. These are twofold, the protesters are really pissed by the one, although the other is a suckerpunch too.
1. There was a relatively friendly taxing of small time entrepreneurs in one man businesses. They had to pay a fixed amount of money per month, and they could earn whatever they could. The amount was relatively low considering how much they could earn on certain fields. There were some exploits of this, some companies to avoid certain taxes only "employed" such freelancers for example. Anyway this status was being picked at for couple of years now, the fixed amount was raised, or they couldn't accept over a certain sum from one source, and whatever. Now they cut the use of this, and now they can't make deals companies only with private persons. Problem is vast majority of them relies on company contracts and orders. And to be honest from my current situation I too oriented to this option, and now it's closed.
2. As I noted in previous post >>48285 now people aren't protected from price hikes of energy, and at above average consumption they have to pay full price of electricity and gas. As I said this isn't the chief reason to protest, but if they lose their livelihood they won't be able to pay the bills. So.
The protesters are mostly young people, with various uni degrees. Artists, translators, programmers, etc. etc. They don't do much trouble because the troublemaker strata of society works in menial jobs, and law enforcement. Latter still might try to incite some violence. Till then these demonstrations will be peaceful.
