I've been normshitting it up today too, unfortunately, but today was one of those days where normshitting it up actually had a positive outcome – and a massive one at that.
I found out that one of my classmates, someone who I have been in the same year and major as for a few years already, is a brazilian. I've posted about my portuguese classmate before, but probably over a year ago, but this chick is brazilian and holy fuck, you can't begin to imagine how ecstatic I was when I found out this information. especially so because it was purely by chance.
she seemed super happy as well to find out someone spoke brazilian portuguese and after we geeked out about over it, I said lets keep talking to each other and she said "yes lets do that, please"
like, I'm not even thinking "oh yeah a girl might be interested in me" or anything in those tracks, I am just so happy that I finally found someone that isnt a 50 year old that I can geek out and talk portuguese with. I've been slacking on it since about exactly a year ago, basically only doing the bare minimum maintenance to keep it up but now I think my skills will skyrocket since I will likely hang out with her a bit during lessons or between lessons etc. its so fucking winnable
also Ive been chatting a bit with the japanese exchange students and that also gives me motivation to improve that.
everything is coming up milhouse right now so I am feeling good. can't wait to see how everything can possibly turn to shit in the near future... but I'll take that swing when it comes
