Pic related, the Astral Observatory has Saturn cube floor tiles. It's ceiling is the dome of stars from "The Magic Flute." The Queen of the Night(Majora) descends, or stands on the moon. It's a common set piece which is re-created for the opera. Majora is bringing down the moon, just like in the opera. "The Queen of the Night" is also a general reference to the moon itself.

>The run through the caverns to the astral observatory is an initiation ritual.
It begins with a descent down to the north, an allusion to the Cancer gate in the cave of the nymphs. The Majora balloon symbolizes the Capricorn exit to the cave of the nymphs, or Nimrod.
>The southward stair ascent out, and telescope also symbolize the Capricorn exit. You become a being of light by gazing through the telescope. The observatory room features a dome of stars similar to the backdrop used in The Magic Flute.
